Introduction to the Goddess Series

(Originally called the "SHE" series)

In the twenty-five years my mother has created art, she has experimented in the fields of china painting, ceramics, acrylics, watercolor, drawing and multi-media collages. Her work with pen and ink comes into reality without erasing or drafting and often sets the stage for the color collages that follow. The drawings infuse a myriad of images, which sing and dance into a symphony, which keeps you spellbound as you are lifted into another world of Grace. Unconstrained in her desire to find her authentic expression she plays with images creating what becomes an evolution as she stretches and expands the boundaries of her gifts in the imagery from within. Her magnificent collages rendered in watercolors on Japanese masa paper flow in the true spirit of one that is indeed in unity with the elements as she combines, feathers, gems and fabric.

The first image called The Pathseeker begins the journey through the twelve study drawings and the twelve collages originally known as the "IN CELEBRATION OF SHE" series.

It took four years before the 13th image, "The Bodhi Room" was created. It's impact on my life is continuous. Six drawings came into physical expression before the first collage was created. This birthing began in the fall of 1992 with the final brush stroke to the twelfth collage completed as the semi-final breath of the "SHE Series" in 1997. (note: This series is now called the GODDESS series and can be seen on the web in two parts with collages and studies displayed separately. Also, the thirteenth piece is completed and is called Innocent Perception.) Bodhi is a Sanscrit term for "enlightenment" or "enlightened mind".

FROM THE ARTIST--During my short study of Native history I discovered that no tribute had been paid to the native woman living in harmony with nature. Most books had been written before the seventies.

This inspired me to draw my first image, The Pathseeker. Upon viewing it I was moved to dedicate a series of twelve drawings and twelve collages to the Goddess energy and the balancing of the masculine and feminine polarities within all of us. The first works of the drawings capture much of the child within all of us. The collage for each then finalizes the statement and the wise woman finds full expression. In some cases the animal becomes the feminine counterpart.

My work with the Flower of Life /Hologram of Love has brought forth the understanding that this series needs a thirteenth expression. This final resonance may then be considered 'Passage' for cosmic harmonic frequency. For further interest seek out the Calendar of Peace which shows how to live in unity, love and peace through the natural cyclic time consciously using the flow of the thirteen Moon cycles. These are also referred to as galactic tones or powers of creation. In sync with this lunar light are the twenty sun aspects of God which create a mathematical formulae known to many as 13:20:33. It is this frequency of Unconditional Love that all my art is created through and shared with the world.
