A Canadian in South Africa
After having spent eleven months in South Africa with the
intention to volunteer my services for the betterment of the children
especially, I have come away with a deep devotion to helping those less
fortunate.
Vision
for Empowerment - Magog Primary CP School of 400 children
Purpose
create funds for sustainability for the school located in the
rural community of Umzumbe. This small community of around
3,000 people is in the province of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.

The following is a list of the improvements this money will pay for:
- implement an efficient water system for the gardens, kitchen, safer
drinking water, and washing
- leveling of playground area for safety
- scrubs for windbreakers for the front gardens
- turkey pens to be installed behind the 3,000 ft vegetable gardens
at the far end of property providing meat and revenue
- safety fencing for the garbage disposal area
- monthly maintenance for the gardens including the additional charge
for water
Supplies required water pumps, water pipes, sprinklers,
additional hose and garden equipment, seeds, seedlings, fruit trees, top
soil, wiring for turkey pens, posts etc.
$200 monthly maintenance for the gardens will be
required for 12 months until we begin selling the produce sustainability.
